MIMing with Mel

Hola MIMALLY MELISSA, fondly known as sassy y classy ❤

Now that we have reached the last few weeks of our MIM Journey, we decided to ask Mel, our exclusive fashion correspondent, some short and personal questions about her experience working with the MIMALLIES and her MIM journey.

Putting funny, sweet and sassy Mel to the test:

Describe each team member in one word

Pri – creative

Nacho – walking-dictionary

Juan – enterprising

Elias – Mr. Interview

Giulia – a rolling stone

What has been your favourite project so far?

To be honest, I’m enjoying quite a lot creating the blog, specially the fashion section. It’s fun taking pictures of our models, listening to what they have to say about fashion, and seeing if people are actually liking what you post. People don’t comment much on the blog, but there are classmates who stop you in the hallway and say that they actually enjoyed reading about the interview you’ve just posted. Although, I don’t like that much the advertising part of it – sort of tormenting people in tons of WhatsApp groups, Facebook spamming my friends, or persecuting IE Business School in Twitter for a retweet!

What about the Digital Business specialisation? Do you like it?

Overall, there are many things that I like about Digital Business: you get in contact and familiarized with a lot of terminology which maybe you wouldn’t have heard otherwise, we get guest speakers who tells us about their experiences and businesses and we have interesting projects. Although, I believe there is some disorganization. We didn’t have most of our syllabus at the beginning of the course, some course names are so abstract that we aren’t really sure what we are going to learn about (i.e.: Shaping the Impact of Disruptive Technologies),…

Any tips for the juniors when choosing a specialisation?

I would say to chose the one you have less idea about. I’ve done course in Finance, Marketing,… but I’ve never had a course on technology outside IE Business School, and thought this was a great opportunity to get in touch with such an interesting field.

What’s your favourite Spanish phrase/expression that cannot be translated?

¡Esta semana hay puente!

In case you didn’t get enough Mel’s gorgeous face….
